Our facilities
Our accommodations, ranging from cozy caravans and rustic shared rooms to starlit camping, are designed with your comfort and our sustainability values in mind.
When you stay with us, you’ll have access to a range of on-site facilities. You can also participate in our workshops & activities, nature walks and more led by experienced facilitators who are passionate about their practices.
Spacious hall with fireplace
This is perhaps one of the most captivating indoor spaces! The hall is a space for creativity and connection to flourish. There is a powerful pit in front of the fireplace with blankets and pillows . In the hall there is a living room with couches, a small library, a TV and Sound-system! It is a large space perfect for events, gatherings and workshops!
Large fully equipped kitchen
6 fully equiped bedrooms and bathrooms
We have 6 magical rooms, each with its own bathroom. There are several size bed options which you can choose, from double size beds to single beds. Each bathroom is equipped with a shower, toilet and sink. Each room has a different vibe to it, but all very magical, cozy and will make you feel at home within yourself and the space.
Caravan for 2-4 people
This beautiful caravan has been sitting in our space for 40 years and we have just renewed it, transforming it into the next amazing experience you can have on this land! There are two beds inside, a closet and a desk, it is the perfect space for you to relax and wake up surrounded by horses and nature!
Space to camp
As you may know, the land is 6 hectares, which means that there is a myriad of options for you to put up your tent! Enjoy the connection with the land and yourself as you sleep under the starry Alentejan sky!
Outdoor toilets & Outdoor shower
One of the best ways to integrate yourself in the regenerative cycles of PurposeFlow is to use one of our 2 outdoor compost toilets! Made from recycled materials, these toilets will change the meaning of ‘’doing your business’’, it is an experience in itself! You have an incredible view of the land and the horses, cats and dogs will keep you company too! Even though it’s outdoor, it still offers you the privacy that you wish to just be human and enjoy all humanly activities. We also have a simple but yet beautiful outdoor shower where you can nourish your being and the earth simultaneously.
Outdoor gathering spaces
The outdoor space has a typical Alentejan landscape that offers a myriad of different vibes! From sitting under an oak tree to swimming in the lake, you can bask in nature while being part of it. We created a stone circle outside so that we can be in a natural sacred container outside. It feels like you’re being hugged by Mama Nature herself! It is the perfect space for gatherings, rituals, Meditations or just being an connecting with yourself!
Organic garden with fresh herbs & vegetables
Our project is built upon the principles of permaculture and regenerative living, and we strive to create a space that fosters a sense of harmony between humans and nature. We believe that by coming together in this way, we can create positive change for ourselves and for the planet. Which is why we have created a kitchen garden that can nourish up to 15 beings, depending on the season. All organic and diverse goodies! Our favourite? Tomatoes!
Newly planted sapling forests
We planted a sapling forest that brings about soil restoration, water retention and wildlife back to the land!
Fully equipped tool shed
Along these two years we have proudly renewed our toolshed and added more tools and equipment to safely be able to have construction, eco building and carpentry projects at PurposeFlow Living.
I don't think I would be the person I am today if it wasn't for this place and I will be forever grateful for that. I recommend everyone to go into this adventure of regeneration and remembrance of who we are.
I can't thank enough to Ana and Anthony for opening their home and hearts to each being that wishes to stay and experience what it is like to live a more regenerative, calm and wholesome life. I'm so grateful for it all and I can't wait to return either for a retreat or for another 3months to be part of this land and seeing it changing throughout the seasons. Sending love to all the beings and nature that are part of Guarda da Freira!
First, the enclave is a wonderful place, literally in the middle of nowhere, filled with nature, animals, and a sky without a hint of light pollution that allows for privileged views of the stars at night.
Second, the animals add a special touch. They make you feel even more connected to nature.
Third, the level of awareness and responsibility in every detail: the compostable toilets, the water conservation, the permaculture garden... It's living in true harmony with the planet.
And finally, and perhaps most importantly for making all this possible, Anty and Ana, with all the work and love they've put into this project, make everything meaningful and even more special.
Whether it's because you want to spend time in nature, breathing in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Or because you want to settle down there for a while and be part of the community. Or because you want to organize an event or retreat. This is a magical place that will allow you to develop and develop your projects.

The space that Anti and Ana have so lovingly cultivated over the years is nothing short of magical. It’s exactly what anyone walking through the doors needs—a sanctuary for exchanging energy, skills, and love. Whether you’re diving into yoga, carpentry, massage, reiki, singing, or simply sharing stories, you’ll find an atmosphere of learning, growth, and wholehearted acceptance.
This is a place where people come not only to work but also to laugh, dance, express themselves, connect deeply, and yes—share endless hugs. Over time, you realize you’re part of something far greater than just yourself. PFL is a bridge to a bigger picture: showing us how to coexist harmoniously with nature, with others, and with ourselves. It’s a reminder of all the good we can do in the world and a space that inspires us to carry this knowledge, energy, and love wherever we go.
Through the roles we take on here and the curiosity we nurture, you’ll find yourself stepping into a more authentic version of you. This space truly invites you to take that extra step for your growth, and I promise, it’s so worth it.
If you find yourself at PFL, I encourage you to connect with the land, get to know the beautiful souls that are Anti and Ana, and open yourself to all the beauty and wisdom around you. This place has given me lifelong friends, endless inspiration, and a deeper connection to who I am—and for that, I am forever grateful.
I cannot wait to return someday. Until then, I carry the lessons, love, and energy of PFL wherever I go.
There are always other humans and volunteers around in guarda da Freira to bond with, learn from other simply exchange experiences. The Facilitator Anthony Ryan himself is a truly intriguing, wise being that gladly shares his experience and wisdom with you and will always take time to help if needed.
In general I can only advise anyone to explore the magic and wisdom that Guarda da Freira (Purposeflow) offers and experience it on your own! 🙂
You can come as guest or a volunteer and regardless when or for how long you stay, you will be embraced with so much love by the land, the space, the creatures, the beings.. You will experience the magic of community life, with delicious shared vegan meals, group activities, and meaningful conversations. You will learn about permaculture, conservation, reforestation, and the realities of climate change. You will have the space to connect with yourself, other beings, the elements, nature.
I spent two months as a volunteer and it is difficult to sum into words the truly special experience I had there. It is clear how special Purposeflow is when you take time to read about it online - whether that is on Workaway, Google reviews, social media - the love and magic radiates through. Hopefully that love will radiate through these photos as well 🙂
